Net Metering
Thinking about solar energy for your home or business? RPL is ready to help you get started.
Here are some important ideas no matter the size of your solar generation or whether you have a home or business.
- All your equipment must be UL rated and meet all industry standards and certifications.
- The installation must be inspected by the appropriate City or County Electrical Inspector and pass an acceptance test by RPL staff. Your system should not be in service until you receive approval from the inspector and RPL.
- You must have $1,000,000.00 of liability insurance. This is what slows down most applications. Please discuss with your insurance provider and be prepared to submit proof of insurance with your application.
How will this affect my bill?
Net metering applies to most residential solar installations.Click here to take a closer look at how net metering works.
Large solar installations
Large solar installations, more than 10kW, are considered as self generation. Systems this size will also partner with IMPA. IMPA is the wholesale energy provider to RPL. RPL will bring you and IMPA together to complete the business side of your project.
